...It wasn't until a couple of months later when Timothy turned eighteen that they all came together again. Thor had gotten better, he had no sign that Loki was okay, and that scared him, but he had gone back to work, he met Chase a few times in the cafe at the hospital, but things were just not the same. Thor was nervous when he got to the door and knocked, and he bit on his lip looking at Will. He had a bag, with presents in his hand, for Timmy, for his birthday. He didn't even know if Timmy would want to see him. He was an adult now..he didn't have to see his dad. The twins as well...he was scared of what they would do. Maybe he had left them one too many times and they wouldn't want to see him again.
Despite his worries Timothy smiled when he saw his father and hugged him "Hey dad!". He hugged him close and when they parted he looked past him, hoping to see his other father too. But Loki hadn't come. Timothy smiled sadly and then shook Will's hand and let them inside. Jodie was walking more now and she run over to Thor to hug his leg "Daddy!". She had missed her dad even though Chase tried his best to be a good substitute. Sebastian hugged Thor too but he said nothing.
Thor smiled and hugged Jodie back "Hello lovely. Look how much you have grown my pretty little girl". He smiled and then gave Timmy his presents. He had gotten him a new football kit, and new boots, since his old ones were getting too small, he just hoped Timmy still played football. He also got Timmy a watch, it was a special birthday so he got something special. It was a nice silver watch, and he had it engraved, with the message. 'Timmy, my first son. I love you. Dad'. Timothy smiled when he saw the kit and boots. "Thanks dad!", he said happily and hugged him. He really had needed new boots, his were falling apart. But Chase's hadn't been able to buy him new ones since he had to take care of three kids alone. They weren't strictly speaking poor, but the children couldn't go eat ice cream as often or go to the park. Chase had to work longer now to afford the bill and the baby sitter for the toddlers. A lot of things had changed since their parents left. Timothy then got the watch and he smiled melancholic. "Thank you.", he said again with an honest smile when he saw the words.
When it was time for dinner Will and Thor prepared the food while Timothy got the plates and cutlery and Jodie hugged her father's leg. Little Sebastian in the meanwhile walked to the front door as he did every evening. He reached up for the handle and with some effort managed to open the door and he sat down on the step waiting to either see his father or be collected by his family. Thor panicked a little when he couldn't find Seb but Timmy pointed at the door. "He does it every day..." He whispered sadly. Thor sighed and looked at the little boy who just sat there sadly. He blinked away tears and then he walked outside and sat with Seb. "Baby. Why are you here?" He asked him softly. He wanted Seb to talk about how he felt. It would help him. "You waiting for Chase?", he asked even though he knew that wasn't the answer.
Sebby looked up at his dad and then down the street again, his little hands fiddling in his lap. At the question he shook his curly head. "No..", he said softly "Wait for daddy.". He looked at his dad again and asked with a hopeful voice "You wait with me?". He shifted closer to his father and leaned against his side, his head resting against Thor's arm as he continued to watch the street, hoping that if he just looked long enough his father would suddenly appear.
Thor looked down at him. "Daddy isn't going to be back yet darling. I'm sorry I know you miss him, I miss him too, but he's on a long adventure so you need to be a good boy and wait for him a little longer okay?",he asked and then sniffed and picked up the boy holding him close. Thor cried a little bit, he couldn't deal with this. Seeing his son and his poor little face as he waited for his favourite daddy to come home. "He will come home soon..." He said through tears.
Sebastian wrapped his little arms around his father and let him carry him back inside. He never protested when one of the adults came to collect him from the door step. He would just return the next evening. "Don't cry papa.", he whispered and rubbed carefully the tears from Thor's cheeks "We can wait tomorrow again."...
